Mounjaro (Tirzepatide): Complete Guide

IMPORTANT NOTICE: This content is informational and does not replace an individualized medical evaluation. Always consult a healthcare professional.

Mounjaro® (tirzepatide) is an innovation in the management of type 2 diabetes and, in some countries, also in weight management. It is a dual agonist of the GLP-1 and GIP receptors, promoting better blood glucose regulation and supporting weight loss.

What is Mounjaro?

Mounjaro® is the brand name of tirzepatide, developed by Eli Lilly. It differs from other GLP-1 agonists in that it also acts on the GIP receptor, producing additional effects on metabolism and appetite control.

Main Benefits

  • Significant reduction in glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) in type 2 diabetes
  • Significant weight loss, including in people without diabetes
  • Possible reduction in cardiovascular risk (in clinical studies)
  • Convenient weekly dosing with prefilled pens

Indications

  • Type 2 diabetes, as an adjunct to diet and exercise
  • Weight management (in countries where approved for this indication)

Doses and Presentations
